NCCC Traders by Nature

We are the Netherlands-Czech Chamber of Commerce and we are Traders by Nature. Established in 1992 in Prague, we are now looking ahead to 2052. The Dutch competences and head start in creativity, innovation, and circular economy are the cornerstones of our mission to connect people to create a sustainable positive impact on well-being and prosperity. We connect Dutch, Czech and many other nationalities as our members; anyone who would like to be part of our mission is welcome.

Our Patron members are ING, NN, Albert, Shell, TMF, CTP, Philips, Business Lease, P3, Impact Hub, and Zátiší Group. We have over 50 corporate, NGO and personal members.

On our online community platform, we have more than 400 members, from over 200 organisations.

We have a small and very effective executive team that drives programmes, creates events, and organises activities that aim to create a positive and sustainable impact on people, society, and the environment. The executive team is supervised by the NCCC Board of non-executive Directors.

Our culture is characterised by trust, respect, kindness, and the willingness to help and support each other to achieve our goals. A result, good or bad, is never an individual’s result at the NCCC.

The role

To strengthen the team and give shape to our ambitious strategic plan for 2022-2024, we are looking for a Deputy Director. In 3-4 days a week, the Deputy Director will be responsible for creation of events and the daily management of the NCCC. He or she will manage the member community, realise acquisition of new members, support our office staff, oversee event organisation, develop and execute marketing and social media strategy, manage and oversee the F&A function, and will be responsible for P&L, budget and, forecasting.

The Deputy Director will also support the chamber Director in the development of the NCCC programmes: Creative Heroes Award, On the Road to Smart Industry and the Young Professionals Charter.

The Deputy Director will report to the Director of the NCCC.

The profile

No one is going to tell you what to do, where to do it or how to do it. Sounds good? However, do not underestimate the amount of energy, creativity, self-organisation, discipline, diplomacy, action- and result orientation that is required for this role.

Even though positive sustainable impact transcends borders, and it shows in our membership base, a strong connection with The Netherlands will certainly benefit you. You do not have to be Dutch; you should at least feel somehow Dutch.

Your English, both spoken and written, must be of a (near) native or professional standard. You must be almost fluent in Czech. Knowledge of Dutch is an advantage.

We run the NCCC as a business, albeit a non-profit one. Extensive experience in a business environment, preferably in a commercial role, will certainly help you.

We are known for our creativity in coming up with new ideas for events and activities. Hence, the Deputy Director should have a creative personality with an innovation mindset. Since the team is small, creative writing skills are a requirement.

We are in the business of creating and nurturing meaningful (cross-border) relationships with companies, NGOs, and (semi-)government organisations. You must like people and get energy from networking and striking up conversations with strangers, on all levels. Also, you must have presented to large groups of people.

This is often not a 9 to 5 job. Events regularly happen in the evening and your attendance is always required.

We expect above average IT skills, being app savvy and knowing how to use online tools (such as WordPress, MailChimp, Canva, Lumen5, Myia, Mentimeter).

Some more details

Even though we have good office facilities in the same building as The Netherlands Embassy in Prague 6 – Bubeneč, we are quite used to working from anywhere.

You can work on a regular contract basis or on a service agreement as an OSVČ.

How to apply

Please send an email with your motivation and a recent CV to office@nlchamber.cz. We may follow-up with an invitation for a personal interview with the NCCC Director.
