Robert Neruda was named the twenty-first partner of Havel, Holásek & Partners.  With 140 lawyers, Havel, Holásek & Partners is the largest Czech-Slovak law firm.  In his new role, Robert Neruda will be co-responsible for the development of the firm’s specialised antimonopoly law practice group, as well as for the development of a legal team advising manufacturers, distributors and resellers of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG).  He will continue advising clients in the public sector.

“Robert Neruda’s promotion reflects his professional achievements and the excellent work he has done for the firm so far.  Robert is an outstanding expert on competition law, with extensive professional experience and excellent personal qualities.  Our key priorities lie in forming a genuine partnership with our clients, based on individualised approach, and fostering trust and loyalty,” said Jaroslav Havel, one of the founding partners of Havel, Holásek & Partners.

At Havel, Holásek & Partners, Robert Neruda leads a team of ten lawyers who specialise in competition law and state aid – the largest practice group of this specialisation in the Czech and Slovak markets.  He himself focuses mainly on cartel agreements, the abuse of dominance, antitrust clearance of mergers and acquisitions, state aid issues, and public procurement.  Robert Neruda also manages the firm’s branch in Brno, with a team of 13 lawyers and approximately 50 regular clients.  He has co-authored commentaries to the Czech competition act and the public procurement act and has written numerous articles.  In addition, he often speaks at professional conferences and gives lectures at universities.  Before joining Havel, Holásek & Partners, Robert Neruda worked for eight years in leading positions at the Czech Office for the Protection of Competition.  In 2009, while serving as the first vice-chairman of the Office, he was appointed the acting chairman.  Robert Neruda graduated from the Masaryk University School of Law in Brno.

“I appreciate the trust of both the firm and our clients.  My colleagues and I will continue in our endeavour to provide highly professional advice on competition law to keep our clients safe without unnecessary restrictions.  I hope that I will also be able to take this approach in other areas of law, including FMCG,” said Robert Neruda.  Thanks to the expanding legal team, the concentration of our expertise and the comprehensiveness of our legal services, Havel, Holásek & Partners, with a total of 140 lawyers, strengthened its position as the largest law firm in the market in 2011 and became the most recommended law firm in the Czech Republic in the official Law Firm of the Year 2011 competition.
