For the fifth time ING Bank employees, with the cooperation of the Tereza Maxová Foundation organized a Charity Breakfast. This autumn breakfast was held on Wednesday, November 11th on the premises of the ING Bank office. The aim of the event was to combine business with pleasure. Employees prepared some snacks and by selling of their products to other colleagues they collected money to help out one of the few selected real life stories.

Employees had an opportunity to taste some cakes, cookies, pies, sandwiches, tasty spreads or they could buy some gifts from the Teribear collection. This included: a calendar with pictures from a painting competition with the theme My Best Song; a cooking apron from the ING Bank Fund of the Tereza Maxova Foundation; a special cookbook filled with delicious recipes from ING Bank employees, and Christmas gifts made by children from children’s homes.

The money, which was collected during breakfast, was devoted to Roman Kadlec – a talented and active young man, who despite adversity, was fighting for his own place in the sun. Roman grew up in a children’s home, and not long ago, Roman successfully earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Finance and Administration. And now, the only thing preventing his pursuit of the higher level, graduate degree, from this institution, is a lack of money.

“Total proceeds received were in the amount of 24,672 CZK, and ING will double this amount! Thanks to the Charity Breakfast, which was a really good gourmet experience, Roman will get support in his studies at university, that will help him increase the possibility of succeeding in the labour market,” said Jindra Machačová, Chairman of the ING Bank Fund of the Tereza Maxová Foundation.

ING Bank is well aware of its corporate social responsibility, and globally initiated the project, “Chances for Children”. This project was launched in 2005 with the help of UNICEF. Its aim is to give children access to education as well as improving the quality of education in the local communities in which ING businesses are active.

In relation to this project, ING Bank in the Czech Republic, has decided to cooperate with Tereza Maxová Children's Foundation, which ideally complements its strategy – support for education, sport, and free-time activities. The cooperation is also unique because of its allocation process. The grant committee consists both of the Foundation and ING Bank representatives. The mission of the Fund is: To make a positive difference in the lives of children growing up in children’s homes or in foster care.

“ING Bank cooperation with the TM Foundation, has continued for over 10 years, and we hope that in the coming years our assistance will put smiles on the faces of many people,” added Jaroslav Vittek, General Manager ING Bank.

We are looking forward to another Charity Breakfast which is planned for spring 2016.
