Erik Fortgens, has been appointed as the head of Wholesale Banking (WB) in ING Czech Republic, effective 1 October. Erik succeeds in his position Mark Tornij who was appointed as chief risk officer for WB in the Americas earlier this year. Mark was in charge of WB Czech Republic since 2018, building a strong team which has contributed significantly to the success of ING WB business in the Czech Republic.

During his more than 20 years at ING, Erik has held various business roles in the Netherlands and Switzerland. Recently, he oversaw Financial Markets (FM) Corporate Sales Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), a team which consisted of more than 100 sales professionals located in 18 countries.
Erik Fortgens (48) is married to Simone and has twin 9-year-old daughters. Outside of his work he enjoys reading, travelling, and doing sports, mainly running and mountain biking.
