E-rooms are designed to withstand extreme temperatures, rough seas, and other challenging conditions. “In their development, we emphasize reliability, which includes waterproofing, thermal insulation, and advanced fire protection systems. Over the past two years, we have produced more than 20 of these smart switchboards,” said Martin Vojtek, Assembly Manager, Huisman Czech Republic.
The containers house all key electrical systems and control units, allowing crane operation from a single location. Moreover, modern communication technology ensures remote access and diagnostics, even when the ship is out of port, which enhances maintenance efficiency and reduces downtime. “E-rooms typically have specific dimensions, so we have to transport them from Sviadnov to ports by oversized truck transport, from where they continue by ship to the rest of the world,” added Karel Pavlíček, Managing Director, Huisman Czech Republic.
E-rooms are equipped with various cooling systems to ensure reliable operation even in demanding environments. Air-cooled switchboards are standard, while water-cooled systems are designed for more challenging installations. The thermal insulation of the containers meets A60 standards, ensuring protection even at high temperatures. Safety measures include an advanced fire protection system with extinguishing agents that are safe for electronics and human health.
The containers are also equipped with data and communication technology, with the entire system interconnected and featuring remote access. This allows technicians to connect to the system even when the ship is far from port. E-rooms from Sviadnov represent the pinnacle of control systems for cranes, and due to their quality and reliability, they are a crucial component of many demanding projects worldwide.
