The largest Czech-Slovak law firm, Havel, Holásek & Partners, appointed Pavel Němeček as its 23rd partner. Pavel will continue to focus on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, insolvency and insurance law, especially for German-speaking clients. In addition, he will be co-responsible for management and other development in banking, finance and capital markets, including further strengthening of the team, attracting new clients, and project management. He will also contribute to the management of the Slovak office in Bratislava, where he has been working since January 2012.

The large volume of advisory services for German-speaking clients, especially from Germany, Austria and Switzerland, generates a dynamically growing share of the office’s workload. Hence it was a logical step to appoint a new partner for German-speaking clients. In addition, we believe that appointing a new partner for our banking, finance and capital markets team is another strong indication of interest in our specialisations relating to the business areas of our clients, said Jaroslav Havel, the founding partner of Havel, Holásek & Partners.

Pavel has been working at Havel, Holásek & Partners since 2008. Here he has capitalised on his previous experience at the Prague branch of the prominent German law firm Gleiss Lutz. Pavel started his career at the insurance company Gerling at its headquarters in Cologne, Germany. In the following years, he provided legal advice to important companies in the automobile industry, transport, information technology, banking and finance, construction and acquisitions and divestitures. Pavel also advised in the area insurance law and insolvency law, especially with respect to German-speaking clients.
Pavel will continue to support the development of the Slovak office, which is made up of a team of almost 30 lawyers and is the second largest law firm in Slovakia. The lawyers at the Slovak office provide advice in all legal areas, not only to Slovak clients, but also to Czech and foreign clients doing business in Slovakia. Pavel assists partners Jaroslav Havel, Peter Šuba and Martin Jureček in the firm’s management.

Pavel studied at the Faculty of Law of Charles University and took part in a two-year educational programme (Ausbildung zum Versicherungskaufmann) at BWV Bildungsverband Cologne, Germany as a part of his work in the insurance company Gerling. Pavel speaks Czech, English and German. He devotes his free time to family and sports, especially ice hockey, cross-country skiing and cycling.
