24,000 vouchers for a night in a warm and safe place. That's the result of the 9th annual Salvation Army Night Voucher campaign, which runs from the beginning of November to the end of March.
By purchasing a Night Voucher ("Nocleženka“) for CZK 100, donors have not only provided a person without shelter with an overnight stay in a Salvation Army Night Shelter, but also:
Night Vouchers are used in all Salvation Army Night Shelters across the Czech Republic. These include Prague, Brno, Karlovy Vary, Ostrava, Krnov, Opava, Šumperk, Jirkov and Havířov. During the winter months, the Salvation Army provides approximately 2,500 beds per day.
"The Night Voucher campaign is not only about temporary shelter, but also about supporting people in their search for stability and finding confidence in their own abilities. We believe that every night spent in a warm place can be the first step towards rebuilding their lives," says Šárka Bauer, director of the Karl Larsson Social Services Centre in Prague.
The Salvation Army would like to thank all the generous donors who have purchased a Night Voucher this season and donated a night in a dry and safe environment to people experiencing homelessness.
