The largest Czech and Slovak law firm Havel, Holásek & Partners has strengthened its team with new managing associate Matej Firický (30). At Havel, Holásek & Partners’ Bratislava office, Matej Firický will be responsible mainly for legal advice to private clients and on mergers, acquisitions & divestitures mainly in the banking, pharmaceutical, and energy sectors.
Matej Firický worked for six years with the international law firm White & Case, where he provided clients with comprehensive legal and tax advisory services. He also worked at the Bratislava office of the international audit company PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he provided tax advisory services to both national and international clients.
At Havel, Holásek & Partners’ Bratislava office, Matej Firický will focus his practice on advising private clients, primarily on the legal and tax set-ups of holding structures and reorganization of cross-border transactions. He will also specialize in mergers, acquisitions & divestitures, mainly in the banking, pharmaceutical, energy, transportation, real estate, and construction sectors. As well, he will deal with tax structuring in the field of banking, finance & capital markets, and state aid.
Matej Firický graduated from the Matej Bel University Faculty of Law in Banská Bystrica and the Faculty of Economics and Management of the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra. He is a member of the Slovak Bar Association, and speaks Slovak, Czech, and English. He also is the author of several professional publications dealing with legal and tax matters. He spends his free time mostly with his family and likes sports.
