The Summer Internship program in Ahold was held for the ninth time this year. The program was focused on talented university students. The interns had the opportunity to develop their knowledge and get a valuable work experience during the summer, set directly in the headquarters of an international retail company. Five chosen students worked on real projects in different departments from June till the end of September. The internship ended by results presentation in front of the members of Ahold’s top management and all interns received a certificate.
Opportunity for students and managers
Ahold again provided a unique opportunity to university students to participate on interesting and real world projects under the guidance of experienced professionals directly in the headquarters of Ahold Czech Republic in Prague. One of the interns was also Eva Brabcová, student at University of Economics in Prague. "I signed up for the internship, because it is an excellent way to connect theory and the real experience. In addition, I study international business and working in retail company is something I would like to do in my future career," says Eva Brabcová.
"We are very happy with the interest of students in the Summer Internship program in our company. The program is very useful not only for students themselves, but also for managers who, thanks to the cooperation with interns, gained a new perspective on solving of various problems and situations and challenging with bigger projects," says Lenka Bednářová from HR department of Ahold and adds: "Except of the valuable experience, the internship can be a great start for the future career."
