17.30 - 22.00
Our spring event was held at its traditional venue, the Žofín Garden, decorated by beautiful flowers arranged by Jana Brandsová.
Elias Drakopoulos, Chairman of the Board of Directors opened the official part of the event. H.E. Ed Hoeks, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands reminded us of the importance of responsible business and appreciated the cooperation between NCCC and the Embassy of the Netherlands in Prague on some projects, such as CSR Passport which is inspired by the Netherlands.
The speakers, newly exalted Lieutenant General František Maleninský and Pavel Gruber, Director of the Médicins Sans Frontières in the CR, talked about the role of armies and humanitarian organizations in conflict areas and their speeches were truly interesting. They both have very important and different roles. Modern techniques make their jobs easier today, e. g. online drugs orders are highly appreciated. But there are sometimes not only language barriers in the comprehensive approach to medical support on operations, but as well complicated because it includes many parties (military, NGOs, national, international). Lieutenant General František Maleninský explained e.g. the roles in the core medical capabilities and timeline of ISAF medical planning. NCCC Board member Miloš Malaník summarized the activities of the NCCC Corporate Responsibility Club, more on which you can find here. Thereafter, guests enjoyed the rest of the evening in a less formal way.
A delightful buffet dinner prepared by Zátiší Catering was accompanied by the Cooking Show of Richard Jacobsen, an excellent Dutch Chef, and his 3 course tasting menu. Nobody could miss Dutch panna cotta with rhubarb compote and Dutch marinated cookies.
Even though it wasn't the warmest evening of the month, guests appreciated the Algida ice-cream.
