Following the success of the Czech Beer Festival, the joint event of several bilateral chambers of commerce, which we have participated in since 2010, this year we co-organized ‘Business Meets Art’. Guests enjoyed a private viewing of the exhibition ‘Kokoschka and Prague’, as well as networking with members of the 10 organizing chambers: British, Canadian Chambers of Commerce, Czech-Irish Business and Cultural Association, French-Czech, German-Czech, Indian-Czech Joint, Italian-Czech, Netherlands-Czech, Nordic and Swiss-Czech Chambers of Commerce. Delicious catering served by Zátiší Group perfectly completed the pleasant atmosphere of this cultural evening.
General Director of the National Gallery in Prague, doc. Dr. et Ing. Jiří Fajt, Ph.D. said a few words about the history of the Gallery which began to be written in 1796. The original idea has been present in all the complicated episodes of the Gallery's development: to elevate the nation's spirit through works of art. This ideal is considered the mission of the National Gallery even today.
Five professional guided tours were organized between 7 pm and 10 pm in English, German and Czech. Some guests enjoyed the ‘Kokoschka tour‘ in all three languages.
The exhibition presents a selection of works by Oskar Kokoschka, created, for the most part, in 1934–1938 in Czechoslovakia, on loan from Czech and foreign institutions and private collections. You can visit ‘Kokoschka and Prague’ till 28/06/2015.
