The Cycling Festival Prague was organized within the Cycling Festival Europe by the Netherlands Embassy and the Netherlands-Czech Chamber of Commerce, on the occasion of the Netherlands EU Presidency 2016. In the beautiful garden of the Embassy at Bubeneč, guests appreciated delicious Dutch refreshments as well as the presence of special guests – Ski Cross World Champion Tomáš Kraus and the Dutch band Birth of Joy. They enjoyed a Bike Ride through Prague and finished the day with a concert of Birth of Joy.
The event was opened by the Dutch Ambassador, H.E. Ed Hoeks. He welcomed all participants and also our special guests, Tomáš Kraus, double world champion in Ski Cross, and the Dutch band Birth of Joy. Thereafter guests enjoyed tasty and healthy refreshments provided by our patron member Ahold, which presented their Albert BIO and Albert Veggie products. They also appreciated delicious Dutch specialties: poffertjes (little pancakes) and stroopwafels (waffles with syrup) prepared by D Food Queen. Great Polderkaas cheese (NLSýr) and beer by Heineken (Zlatopramen N*A) could not be missing.
Having enjoyed the Dutch atmosphere, a group of 30 participants, together with Peter Keulers, Deputy Head of Mission at the Netherlands Embassy, as well as our special guests Tomáš Kraus and Birth of Joy, took their bikes and set off to a Bike Ride through Prague, which was prepared by an NCCC member Auto*Mat. The Bike Ride finished at La Fabrika, where the cyclists refreshed themselves with a drink and a concert of Birth of Joy.
We would like to thank all participants, our special guests, partners of the event and last but not least, the Netherlands Embassy, for organizing this very nice Dutch event. It was a pleasure for NCCC to have been a part of it.
