DSA Prague (Diplomatic Spouses Association) would like to invite you to an evening full of musical legends: George Gerschwin’s An American in Paris and Music for Prague 1968 by Czech American Karel Husa, with conductor Leonard Slatkin and pianist Olga Kern.
Prior to the concert, guests are invited to a private viewing of a short film about Music for Prague 1968: Husa’s personal response to the overnight invasion of Czechoslovakia on August 20-21, 1968 by Warsaw Pact forces aiming to end the liberal regime of Alexander Dubček and suppress the country’s movements toward democracy.
