ORGREZ Group establishes data excellence center and moves toward digital energy

19 September 2025

The energy sector is undergoing a deep digitalization of transmission. Data and artificial intelligence are the driving force of the future and are therefore an integral part of this process.

ORGREZ Group is launching a data excellence center that will strengthen the use of data and artificial intelligence in energy and other industries. The strategy of the new company ORGREZ DATA s.r.o. is to combine cutting-edge data management with the real needs of clients in the energy, industrial, and public sectors.

"The energy sector is undergoing a profound transformation—digitalization is and will continue to be its key driver. Systems are becoming increasingly complex, and predictive management, machine learning, operational flexibility, and data-driven decisions are a necessity. We have a lot of data in the energy sector, and in the past, this data ended up in 'data graveyards'. At ORGREZ DATA, we want to combine nearly 70 years of engineering experience with the development of advanced software and AI. We remain an innovator not only in energy, but also in the broader context of sustainability," says Vladimír Hlavinka, owner of ORGREZ Group, with a vision to build a leading technical consulting firm in the country with new services.

Jan Huml, an experienced leader with deep knowledge of digitalization and energy markets, is taking the helm at ORGREZ DATA. His main task will be to develop data excellence center solutions, accelerate collaboration with clients, and strengthen the role of data and AI in their daily practice. "Our ambition is clear: we want data and artificial intelligence to become the backbone of modern energy and other industries. By establishing a data excellence center, we are pushing the boundaries of digitalization and bringing advanced data and AI work with a real impact on business and society to traditional industries such as energy," emphasizes Jan Huml, CEO of ORGREZ DATA.

Investment in digitalisation and sustainability

In recent years, the ORGREZ Group has invested significantly not only in modernising its traditional energy services, but also in developing its subsidiary ORGREZ ECO, s.r.o., which focuses on data-driven sustainable business strategies, decarbonisation plans, community energy and environmental product assessments. Jan Huml previously collaborated on the development of the advanced ENVISION solution, a tool for digitising and automating data collection and processing for ESG reporting. He also participated in the design of a decarbonisation study for the capital city of Bratislava in collaboration with KPMG Slovakia. Thanks to ORGREZ DATA, the group is now further expanding its reach in the field of digital tools, ESG reporting and the application of AI in industrial and public systems.

Key challenges for modern energy

Modern energy faces increasingly complex challenges, from the need for accurate prediction of energy production from renewable sources to the ability to adjust system operating settings in real time. Today, digitalisation makes it possible to model possible responses from competitors, predict the impact of strategic decisions and increase the resilience of systems, for example by testing systems for resistance to simple failures or failures with a common cause that could significantly disrupt the stability of supply and the market. ‘The energy sector will increasingly depend on the ability to predict, optimise and adapt, and to identify and assess risks. This requires not only digitalisation, but also a deep understanding of physics, technology and markets. This is where I see our added value,’ adds Vladimír Hlavinka.

Jan Huml, DBA, LL.M., is one of the leading Czech experts in the field of strategic management, data technologies and digital transformation. During his more than fifteen-year career, he has held key managerial and technological positions, led major projects, built new divisions and helped companies increase their efficiency and competitiveness.

He is currently taking over the management of ORGREZ DATA s.r.o., where he heads the group's data excellence centre. His main goal is to deepen cooperation with clients and strengthen the use of data and artificial intelligence in the energy sector and other industries. Within the ORGREZ Group, a.s., he has previously worked as a Data Expert, where he was involved in linking innovation with practice and supporting the strategic growth of the entire group.

He has devoted a significant part of his professional career to the security and technology sector – he served as CTO of SECURITAS ČR s.r.o., Director of Technology at AUROTON COMPUTER, spol. s r.o., and also as Chief Operating Officer and CTO of Česká pošta Security s.r.o.. He is the founder of integritas.ai s.r.o. He has extensive experience in strategic innovation, technological modernisation and the creation of sustainable business models in both the private and public sectors.

"When I started out in the energy sector years ago, technology and physics were key. Today, I see that data and artificial intelligence are the driving forces of the future—and their connection to what engineers have been doing for decades.

That's why we launched ORGREZ DATA – a center of data excellence. We want data to stop ending up in "data graveyards" and become the basis for prediction, flexibility, and sustainability.

I am delighted that Jan Huml, a leader and visionary in the field of digitalization and energy, has taken over the management of the new company. I look forward to working with him and believe that together we will move the energy sector into an era of data-driven rational decisions," says Vladimír Hlavinka.
