Dutch GAAP versus IFRS

Share this story

Our member Mazars would like to introduce the publication ¨'Dutch GAAP versus IFRS' which provides insight into the reporting rules in the Netherlands (Dutch GAAP) and the main similarities and differences with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) for annual periods beginning on or after 1 January 2021.

Just before 2021, the Dutch Accounting Standards Board (DASB) also published new accounting standards on revenue applicable for annual periods beginning on or after 1 January 2022. Earlier application is permitted. In chapter 18A of the publication, please see the main similarities and differences between Dutch GAAP and IFRS based on these new accounting standards.

The purpose of this publication is not only to present an assessment of the main similarities and differences between Dutch GAAP and IFRS, but also to give an overview of the main legal reporting requirements in the Netherlands and the Dutch GAAP requirements.

For companies considering converting to IFRS (or Dutch GAAP), Mazars can help you to:

  • Assess the implications that different reporting framework options will mean for your company;
  • Conduct framework consideration assessments;
  • Conduct detailed impact assessments;
  • Prepare and / or review financial statements for compliance;
  • Prepare and/or review accounting policies and manuals and group reporting requirements;
  • Provide and/or explain the detailed requirements of disclosure checklists.

The Mazars team can also provide technical advice on other accounting issues, as well as training courses tailored for the needs of your board, finance team and/or other affected teams.
