Over hundreds of kids from orphanages have been participating at the Christmas Fairs in Albert stores, media outlets and also ministries. This charitable program of Albert Foundation supports communication, marketing and sales skills of kids. It also develops their financial literacy and manual dexterity, while providing them with an opportunity to earn money for their hobbies, equipment or nice Christmas.
This project of Albert Foundation supports kids from orphanage and non-governmental organizations, and helps them to know the basics of business. The kids have to make the products, set prices for them and then actually sell them at the Christmas Fairs in Albert stores. The kids then use the money from the sold products for their hobbies, trips or sport equipment. "We have been organizing the Christmas Fairs since 2012. Since then, the kids have not only earned over 3 milion CZK, but they also gained a lot of experience for their future life," explains Kristýna Bernatová from Albert Foundation.
Every year, the kids have been preparing for the Christmas Fairs for few months. They enjoy creating new products and they enjoy selling them as well. "We are very excited about the Fairs every year, because it is a perfect opportunity to provide kids with responsibility and financial literacy. They are also more communicative and learn how to handle face to face criticism and basic business tasks,“ comments Lenka Mašatová from the kids orphanage in Ústí nad Labem. The kids will be selling their products in various stores and via the e-shop www.obchudky.nadacnifondalbert.cz till 19 December 2022.
